Ohatsu Clutch Bag (Ornamental)

Description

As I was walking around the Kita district in Osaka, Japan, I came upon, OHATSU TENJIIN, a small shrine dedicated to two ill-fated lovers, Ohatsu and Tokubei. Their tragic love story is considered the Japanese version of “Romeo and Juliette.” The shrine built in their honor, has an impressive 1,300 history and is popular among young lovers and couples. 

I took this photo of the whimsical wooden charms (ema) adorning the shrine. You can purchase an “ema” to draw a beautiful face on Ohatsu or write down your wishes and prayers for true love.  The collage that I created for the back of the clutch features an ornamental collage to commemorate the concept of everlasting love which burns eternal in all hearts.

This custom clutch bag has a loop handle to free your hands and can hold everyday essentials such as a phone, wallet, and keys. It features a zip fastening and a fully lined internal pocket. It is made of vegan leather in a Saffiano pattern finish.
